To hold the hands of the Dying…

Some parents think
For their children to go to funerals
Is unlucky

Some drivers think
To drive behind a coffin-carrying van
Is unlucky

Some people think
To share experiences about death and dying people
Is morbid

To witness sickness is auspicious, not inauspicious
To witness poverty is auspicious, not inauspicious
Above all
To witness Dying
is auspicious,
not inauspicious

These sights are the world’s most skillful teachers
humanity’s most invaluable, wordless lessons
and make us grow

In Gratitude
Compassion
and Wisdom
